NARAB II Signed Into Law by President
President Barack Obama officially approved NARAB II, signing H.R. 26 into law on January 12, 2015. This means a clearinghouse will be established to give agents and brokers an option to register for a national non-resident license. However, state-level registration and payment of license fees will still be required. Existing laws and regulations concerning resident licensure and resident continuing education will remain at the state level, unchanged, along with the appointing, supervision, and discipline of all insurance licensees. States will also continue to issue non-resident licenses for producers who don't wish to attain NARAB membership.
As clearer details surface, the Sircon team at Vertafore will remain dedicated to helping customers manage the changes that NARAB brings, as we do with any regulatory change that affects the insurance industry and state insurance regulators.
